Study Purpose

Our food comes in a variety of forms. Research suggests that food form, whether liquid or solid, may impact the way our bodies use energy from the calories we eat. Our brains may also process that energy differently.

The DEB Pilot research study will evaluate how our bodies and brains process the energy we receive from food.

About the Study

A screening visit at Pennington Biomedical will help determine study eligibility. Participants enrolled in the study will be randomly assigned to a liquid food group or a solid food group.

Participants will consume study food once a day for one month in addition to their regular, everyday meal schedule.  No other lifestyle changes will be required.
