About the Study

Many believe it is important for mothers with a history of GDM to adopt a healthy lifestyle program within the first year after delivering their baby to prevent their poorly controlled blood sugar levels from continuing or becoming worse after their baby is born.

In the PRIDE research study, participants will be assigned to a lifestyle program that will increase their amount of physical activity and change their diet to include foods that are lower in calories and fat. Group one is a face-to-face lifestyle program including meetings with a lifestyle coach. Group two is a telehealth lifestyle program including telephone calls with a lifestyle coach.
