About the Study

Have you ever had a heart attack?
If so, you may be able to participate in a heart health research study at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Unfortunately, after an individual has a heart attack there is a risk of experiencing a future cardiac event. Another possible effect of a heart attack is that individuals may experience high blood sugar levels. The purpose of this research study is to determine if an investigational medication can reduce inflammation and, in turn, lower your risk of having future heart attacks and improve health. Additionally, for those individuals who experience high blood sugar levels, this study will also look at how this investigational medication can reduce the development of type 2 diabetes.

Please see the Pennington Biomedical Research Center Notice of Privacy Practices Protected Health Information for more information on how your medical information is protected.

You may be eligible to participate if you meet the following criteria:

  • Age: 18 years and older
  • History of at least one heart attack
