Director of Sponsored Projects
Pennington Biomedical Research Center is seeking a qualified person to provide leadership, oversight, and management of the Office of Sponsored Projects which reviews and submits proposals for external funding, prepares and negotiates research and clinical trial contracts, assists with budget development, issues subrecipient and professional service agreements, and provides advice and assistance regarding federal and state regulations related to sponsored project administration. Strong computer and Internet skills are necessary along with excellent reporting, communication and analytical skills. Must have the ability to coordinate and direct multiple projects simultaneously and to interact with individuals at multiple levels and disciplines.
Qualifications: Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or closely related field plus not less than five years of progressively responsible experience in grant and contract administration. At least two of the five years of experience must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity. Desired: Masterâ€™s Degree or Certified Research Administrator (CRA) designation. Detailed knowledge of federal regulations related to grants and contracts including Office of Management and Budget Circulars (A-21, A-110, A-133), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is highly desirable.
