The Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a research facility of the Louisiana State University System, seeks a qualified Research Instructor who will spend 85% of effort on a NIH-funded project in the Blood-Brain Barrier Group. The successful candidate will carry out animal studies on how interleukin-15 modulates inflammatory and immune functions and how its disturbance participates in neuropsychiatric disorders. As a junior faculty, the candidate is expected to provide supervision to other trainees in the lab, establish new collaborations, and develop his/her own research projects leading to extramural funding.
The candidate should have a PhD degree in Neuroscience, a minimal of 12 full publications in the past 4 years to meet the general institutional criteria, experience in teaching as well as research, and efficient communication with peers. Strong background in cellular trafficking studies, molecular biology, neurobehavioral analyses, and animal surgery would be preferred.
