PBRC - Research Dietitian/Interventionist - Leonhard
The Research Dietitian will provide nutritional education and counseling to participants enrolled in clinic trials. Research procedures related to dietary interventions will be reviewed by the Research Dietitian to ensure that nutrition-related objectives are met. Implementation of nutrition-related procedures will be monitored to ensure data collection meets protocol requirements. As a Research Coordinator, the Dietitian will organize and monitor the provision of research procedures to ensure the accurate and timely collection of subject/participant data. Duties and responsibilities include the management and coordination of clinical trial studies, data management, study visit preparation and implementation, participant consenting, study status communication, and collaboration with other coordinators, nurses, dietitians, Principal Investigators and ancillary departments.
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics/Nutrition, certification as a Registered Dietitian and a current Louisiana licensure is required. Advanced degree in similar field preferred. One to three years progressive experience in clinical trials to include performance of basic research assessments such as informed consent, anthropometric measures, and source documentation required. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively work with clients in a non-judgmental approach. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and the ability to learn and utilize new computer programs/software. Hours of work may vary depending upon the demands of the study and the needs of the institution.
