||The Department of Inactivity Physiology at Pennington Biomedical Research Center is offering a non-paid intern opportunity available to an undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate student with an interest in physical activity/inactivity, clinical research data management with potential for more in depth participation in conducting directed research.
This is particularly well-suited for ambitious undergraduate students who want to experience a real research experience before entering graduate school or medical school. There is potential for assisting with scientific writing as well.
This intern experience will provide exposure to the latest research in physical activity/inactivity. Interns will assist with data management from ongoing studies at the center and will have the opportunity, if deemed appropriate, to actually assist in data collection during trials. Interns will learn about potential new interventions for research trials and gain experience with conducting and assessing data collection from research trials. The potential to assist with scientific writing exists if deemed appropriate.
Trainee may earn up to 3-6 hours of curriculum credit; student enrollment requirements apply. Apply at least 1 semester in advance of placement request.
